My work combines experimental and traditional methods in the creation of sculpture, installation, digital photography and painting, exploring the influence of language, science, visual culture and their conceptual and aesthetic interactions.

Educational History

2003-2006, BA (Hons) Fine Art, Coventry University . Producing sculptures, photographs, drawings, digital media works and paintings which develop concepts and ideas about the mutual influence between art, language and science. Also producing a 9000 word Reflective Practice Thesis on Language and the experience of Art .

2001-2003, Painting Course, Arte Ilimitada ( Lisbon private school). Produced paintings and drawings. Drawing and Contemporary Art Theory courses.

2000-2003, Biological Engineering, Instituto Superior Técnico ( Lisbon Technical University ). Unfinished (5 year degree).

1998-2000, Dental Medicine, Lisbon Medicine School ( Lisbon University ). Not finished.

Summer 1998, worked in an Embryology and Molecular Biology Laboratory (Ministry of Science project: Projecto Ciência Viva)

Until 1998, A+ average grade in all previous studies.

Related Interests:

I use Portuguese and English fluently. I can also speak and read Spanish or French and understand Italian.

Travelling – 2 inter-rails around Europe, also visited New York (2005), Russia (1986), Germany (2004), Paris and London several times, Portugal and Spain every summer. Next goals: South America, Trans-Siberian rail-way and Morocco .
